Windmill Ten

One More Dream

Dear youth of my heart,

how straight and tall you stand

on your graduation day, confident

in your robe of honor earned, ready

to pursue bright dreams, rising

like rainbow bubbles in sunlight!

If I could stand beside you

to tell you all those radiant spheres

would vanish with your touch,

would you still run after them

to grasp them, to lose them?

Now I see you sitting, downcast --

nothing in your hands but moisture

from tears of lost hope.

Come with me, dear youth

of my heart, let us follow

yet one more dream --

to view the rainbow, circled

around the throne of God,

to hold a white stone with a new name,

to wear a shining robe of light,

to enter another realm

where dreams cannot disappear

in our hands.
